Chapter 6

 

[1] But Job (Hated-masculine) answered [`anah] and said [`amar],
[2] "Oh that [luw'] my grief [ka`ac] in weighing [shaqal], he shall be weighed [shaqal], and my ruin [havvah-feminine] and my destruction [hayah-feminine], they shall be lifted up [nasa'] in the scales [mo'zen-masculine] together [yachad-masculine]!

[5] Does the wild donkey [pere'-masculine] bray [nahaq] over [`al] grass [deshe'-masculine], or ['im] does the ox [showr-masculine] low [ga`ah] over [`al] his fodder [bĕliyl-masculine]?
[6] Can the tasteless [taphel-masculine] be eaten ['akal] without [bĕliy] salt [melach-masculine]?  Or ['im] is there [yeshany sense [ta`am-masculine] in the liquidity [riyr-masculine] of dreams [challamuth-masculine]? (Is there any taste in the white of an egg-KJV)
[7] My soul [nephesh-feminine], she refuses [ma'en] to touch [naga`] them [hem] as she does my sickening [dĕvay-masculine] bread [lechem-masculine].

[11] What [mah] is my strength [koach-masculine], that [kiy] I should wait [yachal]?  And what [mah] is my end [qets-masculine], that [kiy] I should prolong ['arak] my soul [nephesh-feminine]?
[12] If ['im] my strength [koach-masculine] is the strength [koach-masculine] of stones [ 'eben-feminine]; if ['im] my flesh [basar-masculine] is brazen [nachuwsh],
[13] If ['im] my help [`ezrah-feminine] is not ['ayin] in me, and Wisdom [Tuwshiyah-feminine], she is driven away [nadach] from [min] me,
[14] Kindness [checed-masculine] from [min] his friend [rea`-masculine] - for the despairing one [mac]; even he who forsakes [`azab] the Reverance [yir'ah-feminine] of Shaddai (Breasted One-feminine).
 

[15] My brothers ['achim-masculine], they are acting treacherously [bagad] as [kmow] a torrent [nachal-masculine], and as the channel ['aphiyq-masculine] of torrents [nachal-masculine], they pass by [`abar];
[16] Which are dark [qadar] from [min] the ice [qerach-masculine]; on [`al] them, the snow [sheleg-masculine] is hid [`alam]:

[19] The travelers ['orach-maculine] of Tema (Desert-masculine) looked [nabat], the caravans [haliykah-feminine] of Sheba (Seven-masculine) waited [qavah] for them.
[20] They were ashamed [buwsh] because [kiy] they had trusted [batach]; they came [bow'] toward [`adher (the caravans), and were embarrassed [chapher].
[21] For [kiy] now [`attah] you [plural] have become [hayah] nothing to him; you [plural] see Terror [chathath-masculine], and are afraid [yare'].
 

[22] Is it because [kiy] I said [`amar], 'You [plural] provide [yahab] to [ 'el] me'? or, 'You [plural] bestow a bribe [shachad] for [b`ad] me from [min] your [plural] wealth [koach-masculine]'?
[23] Or, 'You [plural] help me escape [malat] from [min] the hand [yad-feminine] of the enemy [tsar]'? or, 'Redeem [padah] me from [min] the hand [yad-feminine] of the Terrifying One [`ariyts]'?
[24] You [plural] teach [yarah] me, and I ['aniy] will keep quiet [charash]: and you [plural] make me understand [biyn] about what [mah] I have gone astray [shagah].
[25] How [mah] grievous [marats] are right [yosher-masculine] words ['emer-masculine]! but what does [mah] your [plural] rebuke [yakach] prove [yakach]?
[26] Are you [plural] planning [chashab] to reprove [yakach] speeches [millah-feminine], and sayings ['emer-masculine] of a despairing one [ya'ash], which are as wind [ruah-feminine]?
[27] Indeed ['aph], you [plural] cast down [naphal] the orphan [yathowm-masculine], and you [plural] dig [karah] over [`al] your [plural] friend [rea`-masculine].
[28] And now [`attah], you [singular] be willing [ya'al] to turn your eyes [panah] upon me; if ['im] I am lying [kazab] to your face [paniym-masculine].
[29] You please [na' ] return [shuwb], she must not ['al] become [hayah] injustice [`evel-masculine/feminine]; you return [shuwb], return [shuwb] again [`owd], my righteousness [tsedeq-masculine] is in her.
[30] Is there [yesh] injustice [`evel-masculine/feminine] in my tongue [lashown-masculine]? or ['im] my tastebuds [chek-masculine] not [lo'] discern [biyn] mischief [havvah-feminine]?
