Chapter 5

[1] "Call out [qara'] now [na'], if there is [yesh] one to answer [`anah] you [singular]; and to ['el] whom [miy] of the Holy Ones [qadowsh] will you [singular] turn [panah]?
[2] For [kiy] Anxiety [ka`ac-masculine], he shall slay [harag] the fool ['eviyl-masculine], and Envy [qin'ah-feminine], she shall cause to die [muwth] the deceived one [pathah].
[3] I ['aniy] have seen [ra'ah] the fool ['eviyl-masculine] taking root [sharash]: but suddenly [pith'owm] I pierced [naqab] his abode [naveh-masculine].
[4] His sons [benim-masculine], they are far [rachaq] from [minYesha (Salvation-masculine), and they are crushed [daka'] in the gate [sha`ar-masculine], neither is there ['ayin] any to rescue [natsal].
[5] Whose ['asher] harvest [qatsiyr-masculine] the hungry one [ra`eb], he is eating ['akal], and he is taking [laqachhim from [min] among ['el] the thorns [tsenim-masculine], and the Ensnarer [tsammiym-masculine], he snaps up [sha'aph] their strength [chayil-masculine].
[6] Because [kiy] Aven (Sorrow-masculine), he does not [lo'] come out [yatsa'] from [min] Dry Earth [`aphar-masculine], neither [lo'] does Amal (Toil-masculine/feminine) sprout [tsamach] from [minAdamah (Ground-feminine);
[7] For [kiyAdam [the red groundling-masculine], he is born [yalad] to ['el] Amal (Toil-masculine/feminine), and the sons [benim-masculine] of Resheph- (lightning-fast birds-masculine) fly [`uwph-feminine] high [gabahh].

[8] But ['uwlam] I ['aniy] would make my request [darash] to ['el] the Mighty One [El-masculine], and to ['elMighty Ones [Elohim-masculine] would I  place [suwm] my cause [dibrah-masculine]:
[9They Who do [`asah-plural] great things [gadowl-masculine] and unsearchable ['ayin-cheqer-masculine]; marvellous deeds [pala'], even [`ad]  without ['ayin] number [micpar-masculine]:
[10They Who give [nathan] rain [matar-masculine] upon [`al] the surface [paniym-masculine] of the earth ['erets-feminine], and send [shalach] water [mayim-masculine] upon [`al] the outside [chuwts-masculine] surfaces [paniym-masculine].
[11] In order to [`al] place [suwm] on a high place [marowm-masculine] those that are low [shaphal], and to raise to inacessible Heights [sagab] of Salvation [yesha`-masculine], those who are mourning in darkness [qadar],
[12They frustrate [parar] the craftiness [`aruwm] of Machashabah (Schemer-feminine), so that her hands [yad-feminine] cannot [lo'] fashion [`asah] Tuwshiyah (Wisdom-feminine),
[13] Capturing [lakad] Orem (Shrewdness-masculine) in his cunning [chakam], and hurrying [mahar] to wrestle [pathal] with Etsah (Counsel-feminine),

[14] They (Orem and Etsah) meet with [pagash] Choshek (Darkness-masculine) in the daytime [yowmam], and grope [mashash] in the noonday [tsohar-feminine] as in the night [layil-masculine].
[15] But He (El-masculine) saves [yasha`] the needy ['ebyown] from [min] Chereb (Sword-feminine), from [min] their mouth [peh-masculine], and from [min] the hand [yad-feminine] of the strong one [chazaq].
[16] Tiqvah (Hope-feminine), she comes to be [hayah] for the poor one [dal], and Evel (Injustice-feminine), she shuts [qaphatsher mouth [peh-masculine].

[17] Behold [hinneh], how happy ['esher-masculineis the mortal [enosh-masculine] whom El Oah (Lady Mighty One) corrects [yakach]: so you [singular] must not ['ayin] reject [ma'ac] the chastening [muwcar-masculine] of Shaddai (Breasted One-feminine):
[18] For [kiyShe [hiyw] causes pain [ka'ab], and She binds up [chabash]: She shatters [machats], and Her hands [yad-feminine] heal [rapha'].
[19She shall rescue [natsal] you [singular] from six [shesh-masculine/feminine] female adversaries [tsarah-feminine]: and in seven [sheba`-masculine/feminine] Ra (Evil-feminine), she shall not [lo'] touch [naga`] you [singular].
[20] In famine [ra`ab-masculine], She shall ransom [padah] you [singular] from [min] the realm of the dead [Maveth-masculine]: and in battle, [milchamah-feminine] from [min] the hand [yad-feminine] of the sword [chereb-feminine].
[21] You [singular] shall be hid [chaba'] from the scourge [showt-masculine] of the tongue [lashown-masculine]: neither [lo'] shall you [singular] be afraid [yare'] of Devastation [shod-masculine] when [kiy] he comes [bow'].
[22] At Devastation [shod-masculine] and Famine [kaphan-masculine] you [singular] shall laugh [sachaq]: you [singular] must not ['ayin] be afraid [yare']  of the Living One [chay-feminine] of the earth ['erets-feminine].
[23] For [kiy] your [singular] covenant [bĕriyth-feminine] shall be with [`im] the stones ['eben-feminine] of the field [sadeh-masculine]: and the Living One [chay-feminine] of the field [sadeh-maculine], she shall make a covenant of peace [shalam] with you [singular].
[24] And you [singular] shall know [yada`] that [kiy] your [singular] tent ['ohel-masculine] is Peace [shalom-masculine]; and you [singular] shall be made an Overseer [paqad] of your [singular] pasture [naveh-masculine], and shall not [lo'] miss the way [chata'],
[25] And you [singular] shall know [yada`] that [kiy] your [singular] seed [zera`-masculine] shall be many [rab-masculine], and your [singular] offspring [tse'etsa'-masculine] shall be as the grass [`eseb-masculine] of the earth ['erets-feminine].
[26] You [singular] shall come to [bow'] the tomb [qeber-masculine] in full strength [kelach-masculine], like a shock of grain [gadiysh-masculine] ascends [`alah] in his time [`eth-feminine].
[27] Behold [hinneh] this [zo'th], we have investigated [chaqarher, so she [hiyw] is; you [singular] hear [shama`-masculineher, and know [yada`] you [singular] for yourself.
