Chapter 9:1-17

The Elohim Covenant with Noah

The Eating of Meat Becomes Allowed/Eating Blood is Forbidden

1: And the Mighty Ones [Elohim-masculine] blessed [barak] Noah (Rest-masculine) and his sons [ben-masculine], and said [`amar] to them, "Be fruitful [parah], and become numerous [rabah], and fill [male'] the earth [`erets-feminine].
2: And the fear [mowra'-masculine] of you [plural] and the dismay [chath-masculine] of you [plural] shall be [hayah] upon [`al] every [kol] living one [chay] of the earth [`erets-feminine], and upon [`al] every [kol] flying creature [`owph-masculine] of the Universe [shamayim=water over there-masculine], upon [`al] all [kol] that move [ramas] upon [`al] the red ground [`adamah-feminine], and upon [`al] all [kol] the fish [dag-masculine] of [min] the sea [yam-masculine]; into your [plural] hand [yad-masculine] are they given [nathan].
3: Every moving reptile [remes-collective masculine] that lives [chay] shall be food [`oklah-feminine] for you [plural]; even as the green [yerek-masculine] edible herb [`eseb-masculine] have We given [nathan] to [`al] you [plural] all [kol].
4: But [`ak] flesh [basar-masculine] with his soul [nephesh-feminine] inside him, in his blood [dam-masculine], you [plural] shall not [lo] eat [`akal].
5: Also [`ak] your [plural] blood [dam-masculine] of your [plural] souls [nephesh-feminine] will We require [darash]; at the hand [yad-feminine] of every [kol] living one [chay] will We require [darash] of him, and at the hand [yad-feminine] of the red ground-ling [`adam-masculine]; at the hand [yad-feminine] of every [kol] man's [`ish-masculine] brother [`ach-masculine] will We require [darash] the soul [nephesh-feminine] of the red ground-ling [`adam-masculine].
6: All [kol] who pour out [shaphak] the red gound-ling's [`adam-masculine] blood [dam-masculine], by a red ground-ling [`adam-masculine] shall his blood [dam-masculine] be poured out [shaphak]: for [kiy] in the image [tselem-masculine] of the Mighty Ones [Elohim-masculine] He made [`asah-plural] the red ground-lings [`adam-masculine].
7: And you [attem'-plural], be you [plural] fruitful [parah], and become numerous [rabah]; roam [sharats] in the earth [`erets-feminine], and become numerous [rabah] in her."

The Rainbow Covenant

8: And the Mighty Ones [Elohim-masculine] said [`amar] to [`el] Noah (Rest-masculine), and to [`el] his sons [ben-masculine] with him, saying [`amar],
9: "And We [`aniy], behold [hinneh], We establish [quwm] Our covenant [bĕriyth-feminine] with you [plural], and with your [plural] seed [zera'-masculine] after [`achar] you [plural];
10: And with every [kol] living [chay] soul [nephesh-feminine] who ['asher] is with you [plural], of the flying creatures [`owph-masculine], of the animals [bĕhemah-feminine], and of every [kol] living one [chay] of the earth [`erets-feminine] with you [plural]; from [min] all [kol] who go out of [yatsa'] the ark [tebah-feminine], to [`al] every [kol] living one [chay] of the earth [`erets-feminine].
11: And We will establish [quwm] Our covenant [bĕriyth-feminine] with you [plural]; neither [lo] shall all [kol] flesh [basar-masculine] be cut off [karath] any more [`owd] by the waters [mayim-masculine] of a flood [mabbuwl-masculine]; neither [lo] shall there be [hayah] any more [`owd] a flood [mabbuwl-masculine] to [`al] destroy [shachath] the earth [`erets-feminine]."
12: And the Mighty Ones [Elohim-masculine] said [`amar], "This [zo'th] is the token [`owth-feminine] of the covenant [bĕriyth-feminine] which  ['asher]  We [`aniy] give [nathan] between [beyn] Us and between [beyn] you [plural] and between [beyn] every [kol] living [chay] soul [nephesh-feminine] who ['asher] is with you [plural], to [`al] everlasting [`owlam-masculine] generations [dowr-masculine]:
13: We [`aniy] give [nathan] Our [`eth] bow [qesheth-feminine] in the cloud [`anan-masculine], and she shall be [hayah] for a token [`owth-feminine] of a covenant [bĕriyth-feminine] between [beyn] me [`aniy] and the earth [`erets-feminine].
14: When [hayah] he: the cloud [`anan-masculine], We bring to cloud over [`anan] the earth [`erets-feminine], and the bow [qesheth-feminine], she shall be seen [ra'ah] in the cloud [`anan-masculine]:
15: We will remember [zakar] Our covenant [bĕriyth-feminine], which ['asher] is between [beyn] Us and between [beyn] you [plural] and every [kol] living [chay] soul [nephesh-feminine] of all [kol] flesh [basar-masculine]; and the waters [mayim-masculine], he shall no [lo] more [`owd] become [hayah] a flood [mabbuwl-masculine] to destroy [shachath] all [kol] flesh [basar-masculine].
16: And the bow [qesheth-feminine], she shall be [hayah] in the cloud [`anan-masculine]; and We will look [ra'ah] upon her, to ['al] remember [zakar] the everlasting [`owlam-masculine] covenant [bĕriyth-feminine] between [beyn] the Mighty Ones [Elohim-masculine] and every [kol] living [chay] soul [nephesh-feminine] of all [kol] flesh [basar-masculine] which ['asher] is upon [`al] the earth [`erets-feminine]."
17: And the Mighty Ones [Elohim-masculine] said [`amar] to [`al] Noah (Rest-masculine), "This [zo'th] is the token [`owth-feminine] of the covenant [bĕriyth-feminine], which [`aher] We have established [quwm] between [beyn] Us and between [beyn] all [kol] flesh [basar-masculine] which ['asher] is upon [`al] the earth [`erets-feminine].
